Installing loose dreads:

Double ended dreads

When installing double ended dreads you are normally supplied with 50.  Install 6 with small sections on either side of your part.  Continue down each side with 9 double enders on each (a row of 4, a row of 3, and a row of 2) making the sections larger as you move toward the chin (the larger sections won't be as visible).  Install the remaining 20 double enders in the back in rows, once again making the sections larger as you move toward the nape of the neck.

1.  Section hair into a 1 cm by 1 cm section (pin other hair back so it doesn't get caught in the braid).

2.  Separate your section into 2 equal pieces of hair.

3.  Put the middle/undreaded region in between this separated section and pin down the dread that will not be braided in for security (letting the other dread fall between the separated hair).

4.  Take the separated pieces of hair and fold over one another over the dread in the middle of the section to secure the dread.

Single looped dreads

1.  Section hair into a 1 cm by 1 cm section (pin other hair back so it doesn't get caught in the braid).

2.  Stick your fingers through the loop of the single looped dread and grab onto the section of hair and pull it through the loop.

3.  Move the loop up to the root of the hair and separate the section of hair into 2 equal pieces.

4.  Fold the separated pieces of hair behind the dread and fold over eachother to secure the dread.

5.  Begin and continue braiding down the dread.

6.  Tie off with an elastic and tuck any unbraided hair into the elastic.

            Putting on your falls:

Whether you are using 2 falls for pigtails or 1 fall for a ponytail the procedure is the same.

1.  Put your hair into a HIGH bun.

2.  Tilt your head upside down and flip your fall forward above your bun and tie to the base of your bun.

3.  Tilt your head upright and flip your fall over your bun (secure with bobby pins if needed).
